District Government and Civil Rights Partners to Host Educational Events to Honor National Fair Housing Month
Events target renters, housing advocates, housing providers and policymakers
WASHINGTON, DC - To raise awareness about fair housing rights and responsibilities, District government and civil rights organizations will hold educational events across the District during National Fair Housing Month in April. The three-event series – hosted by the DC Department of Housing and Community Development, Equal Rights Center, DC Office of Human Rights, DC Developmental Disabilities Council, and La Clínica del Pueblo – is open to renters, housing advocates, housing providers, policymakers, and other members of the public interested in understanding housing discrimination.
Each event is free and will focus on different topics related to fair housing. Events will be held on April 9, April 20 and April 28. Members of the public interested in attending can RSVP (optional) online at dcfairhousing15.eventbrite.com.

A panel discussion with experts on how to further fair housing and accessibility. Speakers include Melody Taylor-Blancher, Regional Director of the Office of Fair Housing at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
