The DC Office of Human Rights (OHR), in partnership with the US Department of Labor (DOL), will be conducting federal and local FMLA training classes for District government employees and private sector employees/employers. The schedule for the FMLA trainings is provided below:
- Thursday, March 10, 2010, for DC Government employees only. The location is 441 4th Street, NW, One Judiciary Square, room 1107 from 1 pm to 5 pm
- Tuesday, March 29, 2011 OHR and DOL will provide a training to private sector employees/employers at 441 4th Street, NW, One Judiciary Square, Old Council Chambers, 1st Floor South from 1 pm to 5 pm

The District of Columbia’s Family and Medical Leave Act (DCFMLA) entitles District government employees and eligible employees of private employers up to 16 work weeks of medical leave and 16 work weeks of family leave for a qualifying event. The Act also provides employees some job protections when utilizing FMLA-designated leave. Although the revised regulations incorporate some of the language provided by the Department of Labor (DOL) in its FMLA regulations, it also provides additional guidance to District of Columbia government agencies.
OHR is also partnering with DCHR’s Workforce Development Administration to provide EEO & Diversity and Sexual Harassment training to District employees. Finally, OHR will be conducting EEO Counselor and Officer trainings on these dates:
Beginners March 18 and April 22, 2011 |
Advanced May 18 and June 17, 2011 |
All the EEO Counselor and Officer trainings will be held from 9 am to 12 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, Room 1117 South.
