The re-launch of its Attorney-Drafted Charges Pilot Program is designed to streamline the filing process for discrimination cases at OHR. This initiative allows attorneys to file charges on behalf of their clients, helping to reduce intake processing times and address the growing demand for timely justice. Originally running from July 15, 2024, to December 31, 2024, the program seeks valuable feedback from stakeholders, including the Council of the District of Columbia, local bar associations, and advocacy groups, to ensure its effectiveness.
As of January 2, 2025, the pilot program has been extended for a 60 day window ending on March 3, 2025 to allow interested parties to submit written recommendations. At the end of the pilot program, OHR will initiate a 30-day window for interested parties to submit written feedback or comments. Feedback can be sent to [email protected]. OHR will evaluate all submissions and decide whether to permanently implement the program within 90 days after the feedback period closes.
