Attorney-Drafted Charges Pilot Program

The re-launch of its Attorney-Drafted Charges Pilot Program was designed to streamline the filing process for discrimination cases at OHR. This initiative allowed attorneys to file charges on behalf of their clients, helping to reduce intake processing times and address the growing demand for timely justice. Originally running from July 15, 2024, to December 31, 2024, then extended for a 60-day window and ending on March 3, 2025, the program seeked valuable feedback from stakeholders, including the Council of the District of Columbia, local bar associations, and advocacy groups, to ensure its effectiveness.

The Pilot Program is now closed and under review for permanent guidance. However, OHR is still accepting written feedback or comments for interested parties to submit within a 30-day window. Feedback can be sent to [email protected]. OHR will evaluate all submissions and decide whether to permanently implement the program within 90 days after the feedback period closes. More updates will be posted soon.
