Black History Month 2024

Thursday, February 1, 2024

Anti-Black racism is the specific kind of racial prejudice and discrimination that is directed toward Black and/or African American people, or those who are perceived (i.e. “look”) Black or African American.

This form of racism is often covertly and overtly expressed through language (called discursive racism).

Join the DC Office of Human Rights each Thursday this month to learn how choosing our words thoughtfully creates a space for Black and/or African American employees, residents, and visitors to be welcome, valued, and respected. #WordsMatter #BlackHistoryMonth #DCOfficeOfHumanRights #DCOHR #KnowYourRights
