Local Human Rights Laws

The Office of Human Rights (OHR) currently enforces the following local laws:

  1. DC Human Rights Act of 1977 (DCHRA)
  2. DC Family and Medical Leave Act of 1990 
  3. DC Language Access Act of 2004
  4. DC Parental Leave Act of 1994
  5. Eviction Record Sealing and Fairness in Renting Act of 2022 (provisions on tenant screening) 
  6. Fair Criminal Record Screening Amendment Act of 2014
  7. Fair Criminal Record Screening for Housing Act of 2016 
  8. Open Movie Captioning Requirement Amendment Act of 2024
  9. Protecting Pregnant Workers Fairness Act of 2014
  10. Second Chance Amendment Act of 2022
  11. Sexual Harassment Data Collection and Reporting Act of 2022
  12. Universal Paid Leave Amendment Act of 2017
  13. Unemployed Anti-Discrimination Act of 2012 
  14. Tipped Wage Workers Fairness Amendment Act of 2018
  15. Youth Bullying Prevention Act of 2012
