The Commission on Human Rights will honor the 1977 Council of the District of Columbia on this 35th anniversary of its enactment of the DC Human Rights Act of 1977. The Commission will also honor the winners of the Annual Youth Human Rights Ambassador Contest.
The November meeting of the OHR-led Bullying Prevention Task Force -- comprised of DC government agencies, nonprofit organizations, community partners, and educators -- is going to examine the first draft of a model citywide anti-bullying policy.

The September meeting of the OHR-led Bullying Prevention Task Force will focus on bullying outside of the school system. The Task Force -- comprised of DC government agencies, nonprofit organizations, community partners, and educators -- is working to create a model citywide anti-bullying policy.
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Mayor Vincent C. Gray and the D.C. Office of Human Rights (OHR) today launched an ambitious and groundbreaking campaign promoting respect for the District’s transgender and gender-non-conforming communities. The campaign advertisements feature community members with positive messages and are intended to increase understanding of transgender and gender non-conforming people, reduce incidents of discrimination and increase reporting of such incidents to OHR.
WHAT/WHO: Mayor Vincent C. Gray will join members of the District’s transgender and gender-non-conforming communities to launch the D.C. Office of Human Rights’ (OHR) groundbreaking gender-identity-rights campaign and unveil five advertisements featuring community members.
