Fast With DC Muslims

The “Fast With DC Muslims” project is a one-day campaign on June 29 in the District of Columbia that empowers you to join DC Muslims celebrating Ramadan by fasting in solidarity. By registering for the project, you commit to wearing a personalized “Fast With DC Muslims” pin on June 29, and to learn a few short talking points (see below) we provide about Islam as a faith, the diversity of Muslims, and ways to be a strong ally to our fellow Muslim Americans. When people see your pin and ask why you are fasting, you can simply recite one of the talking points.

Employment Protections for Pregnant and/or Unemployed Workers

At this workshop, staff from the DC Office of Human Rights, DC's civil rights enforcement agency, will explain protections for pregnant workers, including new rights to workplace accommodations and discrimination issues.  OHR will also explain protections for jobseekers who are currently unemployed, including protection from discrimination based on the jobseekers' status as unemployed.
