The DC Office of Human Rights (OHR) is dedicated to eliminating discrimination and advancing equal opportunity in the District of Columbia. As part of our commitment to fostering a fair and inclusive community, we actively engage with residents through outreach efforts and educational presentations designed to raise awareness about the District's anti-discrimination laws.
Our training aim to inform and teach community members about topics such as their rights under the DC Human Rights Act, local and federal laws, what the 23 Protected Traits in DC are, housing and business discrimination, and how to file a discrimination complaint with OHR.
Presentations are flexible in duration, ranging from brief five-minute sessions to more detailed hour-long discussions, and can include a Q&A segment. Attendees are encouraged to file a complaint if they believe they have been discriminated against and to share the information with others in their community.
Additionally, OHR offers a quarterly Human Rights Liaison Training—a comprehensive session that covers all OHR's activities, an in-depth look at the complaint process, and an overview of the laws we enforce.
