Washington DC Nonprofit Arts Organizations Generate $1.51 Billion in Local Economic Activity
Economic Impact Study, Prosperity IV: The Economic Impact of Nonprofit Arts and Culture Organizations and Their Audiences in the Greater Washington DC Region, conducted by Americans for the Arts was released today at a press conference by the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington and the local arts councils and commissions. The report documents that patrons of the arts in Greater Washington DC and nonprofit arts organizations spent $1.51 billion in 2010, and the spending supported 29,003 full-time equivalent industry jobs.
