Immigrants Contribute Event

Join us for a FREE and FUN afternoon of community and poetry. Together, we will discuss the challenges and celebrate the stories of the immigrant experience in DC. A resource fair will be held during the event so attendees can learn more about services available to immigrants.

Award-winning performance artist Pages Matam will facilitate the event. Additional performers include: G. Yamazawa (Japan), Drew Law (Palestine), Gowri K. (Sri Lanka), Abisola Kusimo (Ghana),  Zein El-Amine (Lebanon), TetraBoys (Cameroon, Taiwan, Dominican Republic), Amina Iro (Nigeria), Kosi Dunn (South Africa), Dan Verra (Cuba), and Loide Jorge.

The first hour of the event will include an “open mic” opportunity for community members to share their writing or thoughts about the immigrant experience in DC.

Download the flyer in English.
