Office of Human Rights and the Office of the Tenant Advocate Host Free Fair Housing Workshops in Celebration of Fair Housing Month

OHR and OTA host free Fair Housing Workshops throughout April in Celebration of Fair Housing Month.

The District of Columbia Office of Human Rights and Office of the Tenant Advocate will present a series of workshops during April 2009 in celebration of Fair Housing Month. Each workshop will include a presentation by the Office of Human Rights on fair housing issues, including discrimination and reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities. The Office of the Tenant Advocate will present information on tenant rights.

A workshop will be held in various locations throughout the District of Columbia. Participants can choose to attend a workshop most convenient for their schedules and location. The workshops will be held on:

Saturday, April 18, 2009  11 am – 12 Noon,  Petworth Public Library, 4200 Kansas Avenue, NW
        
Tuesday, April 21, 2009  5 pm – 6 pm, Lydia’s House, 3939 South Capitol St, SW

Wednesday, April 22, 2009  6 pm – 7 pm,  Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, 3939 Benning Road, NE

The mini-workshops are free and open to the public.
