DC Arts Commission Supports Relocation of H Street Playhouse to Historic Anacostia

Today the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities announced that it would be contributing $200,000 to the H Street Playhouse, which will soon be moving its location to historic Anacostia.

The H Street Playhouse, whose lease at 1365 H Street, NE, expires February 1, 2013 will relocate to 2020 Shannon Place, SE. During the time leading up to that date the space will undergo interior construction to create the performance area, dressing rooms, rest rooms, box office and theatre office spaces, electric and plumbing upgrades and will be outfitted with theatrical sound and lighting.
